Not all jute bags are equal, and a weak bag costs more than the price saved.
Quick checks
- Weave: even, tight weave with no large gaps that let fine grain escape.
- Weight and strength: heavier, evenly woven cloth carries more and resists tearing. Pull the cloth and check for weak, thin patches.
- Stitching: strong, even seams, with no loose ends.
- Cleanliness: no oil, mould, dampness or strong odour; these can taint food grain.
- Uniformity: consistent size and weight across the lot makes stacking and weighing easier.
Match to use
Fine seeds like sesame need a tighter weave or liner. For export, check the buyer's requirements on bag type, markings and food-safe standards. Ask for a sample first and test it with real grain.
