Two bags at the same price can be very different products.
What to check
- Guaranteed analysis: percent N, P2O5, K2O and any secondary or micro nutrients.
- Nutrient form: nitrate vs ammonium vs urea nitrogen acts at different speeds; water-soluble phosphate suits fertigation.
- Solubility and purity: for drip, only fully soluble fertilizer; check for insoluble residue.
- Chloride content: avoid high-chloride products on sensitive crops (potato, tobacco, many fruits).
- Registration, batch and date: buy sealed, labelled bags from reputable suppliers, to avoid adulterated product.
Compare
Price per kilogram of nutrient, not per bag. And ask whether the product fits your soil test, not just whether it is cheap.
